Pastor
David Gainey
Pastor David Gainey, D.Min., has been married to Hope since 1997. Together, they’ve raised four adult children. Pastor David planted Oasis Church at Rita Ranch in 1997 and continues to serve as the lead pastor. He also provides soul care (counseling) and trains soul care providers.

Ministry Director
Jim Pekny
Jim Pekny has been part of Oasis Church since its beginning and serves as the Ministry Director. After retiring from Raytheon following a 39-year career, he now teaches Lean Manufacturing at the University of Arizona. Jim oversees church operations, co-leads a home church, and serves on the Oasis board. He enjoys serving the church and community, spending time with his four children and eight grandchildren, and golfing.

Finance Director & Admin
Cynthia Brooks
Cynthia Brooks moved to Tucson from Safford, Arizona, in 2019 with her husband, Adam, and their two teenagers. She earned her MBA from Grand Canyon University and has a passion for fitness and wellness. Cynthia coaches CrossFit classes, teaches youth strength and conditioning, and enjoys helping others on their fitness journey. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, snowboarding, and escaping to Alpine.

Worship Leader
Lexa Royce
Lexa was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and has had a passion for music from a young age. After studying Music Education at the University of Arizona and pursuing a record deal in Nashville, she returned to Tucson, where she continues performing and writing original music. Since joining Oasis Church in 2023, Lexa has been passionate about leading others in worship and serving alongside her husband, Ben.

Children's Ministry
Megan Heyne
Megan moved to Tucson from Northern Arizona in 2011 and has been married to her husband, Mitch, since 2015. They have three daughters and three pets. A Certified Nursing Assistant, Megan has worked in healthcare since high school and currently serves at a long-term acute care hospital. As the Children's Director at Oasis Church, she leads Oasis Kids, develops lesson plans, and supports volunteers and nursery staff. She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening, and a good cup of coffee.

Youth Lead
Luke Hermosillo-Tronstad
Luke is a Tucson native and graduated from Embry-Riddle with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Arizona. As the Student Director at Oasis Church, Luke is passionate about investing in the next generation and enjoys spending time with students each week and serving at summer camp. Outside of church, he enjoys playing guitar and piano, hiking, running, and cycling.

Tech Director
Judah Gray
Judah was born in San Francisco and has called Tucson home since he was a baby. He works as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Vail School District and serves as the Tech Director at Oasis Church, overseeing audio, visual, and livestream production while leading the tech team. In his free time, Judah enjoys spending time with friends, gaming, watching shows, and exploring the arts.

Media Director
Nina Wittmer
Nina Wittmer is a Buffalo native who moved to Tucson in 2021 with her husband, Ian. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communications and a master's degree in Digital Audience Strategy and currently serves as the Digital Marketing Coordinator for the University of Arizona Campus Recreation. As the Media Director at Oasis Church, Nina is passionate about using digital media to help people connect with the church. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, dance classes, and spending time with her husband, friends, and their cat, Hank.

Home Church Mentor
Annette Weneck
Annette has been part of the Oasis Church family since 2000 and has faithfully served in a variety of ministry roles over the years. After serving as the church's Administrative Assistant from 2007–2017, she now mentors and supports Oasis Home Church leaders alongside Pastor David. Annette enjoys building meaningful relationships, encouraging others in their faith, and spending time with her husband, Tom, their grandson Sage, golfing, camping, and off-roading.
